A cinematic website for a film production company

Nebras Films is a full-service film production company in Riyadh. It works with productions from all over the world — and its website had to feel like the films it makes: big, dark and cinematic, while showing clearly everything the studio can do.

The site also had to speak to two audiences, so it works in English and Arabic.

A film is watched in the dark, so the whole site is built on black. On top of it, the images do the talking: full-width stills from Nebras' own productions — camel riders in the desert at sunset, a battle scene in the sand, a crew lighting an old Najdi fort.

The colour comes from the logo. The N in the Nebras logo is cut by a diagonal line in bright blue, like a beam of light — so we used that same diagonal everywhere:

• Slanted bands of bright blue across the bottom of every page, with a film set shining through
• Thin diagonal lines crossing the icons on the About page
• Slashes between the menu items — Home / About us / Our work
• A fine yellow-green line for the small details and the More links

Every page opens the same way: one short headline in two colours — ABOUT US, OUR WORK, WHAT WE DO — and one sentence in capitals underneath. Then the content follows in a calm grid, with plenty of black space around it.

We designed the site in Adobe XD and built it on WordPress with HTML5 and Bootstrap, so the Nebras team can add new productions and news themselves. The layout works on every screen size, and a single click switches the whole site between English and Arabic.
